How I Read It: Audiobook/ Ebook
Dates Read: 5/22/19-5/23/19
Okay ladies and gents, buckle in because it’s about to get bonkers up in here. Charley and Luke are still together and #couplegoals. He has to accept that she is doing things for Graydon Pharmaceuticals that he can’t know about, and Charley is constantly trying to find loopholes to make sure he has some semblance of what is going on in her activities.
So Graydon makes Charley chase Richard Davies, a serial killer whose victims are prostitutes that he skins. Charley fights the bad bad man and ends up accidentally killing him due to blood loss. She returns home, trying to cope with this knowledge, thinking that if she tells Luke, he might not want to be with her anymore.
Luke is in a pickle. Lacey Shannon came into the police station claiming that she needs her boyfriend Jordy Clemments in a holding cell. As Luke tries to handle the situation, Lacey leaves, not without leaving him some information. As he begins to cypher what she leaves him, he finds himself stuck in a graver situation than he thought.
Oh, and did I mention Graydon hired Jordy? So now they are in a situation where they can let it all go and not end up on Graydon’s naughty list (there really isn’t a better phrase for sh*t list, is there?) or take care of it, hopefully before Graydon takes care of them.
Dude, I did a really good job of making that summary small. But man, this book is insane, in the best possible way. I did not want to put it down! My biggest issue with it is that now I need to wait until 2020 to find out what happens next!
With that being said, let’s get picky. The ending just didn’t do it for me. I get that you are leaving it open ended for the sake of a sequel, but dude, come on. Also, I don’t like the Graydon twist at the end. Come at me.
I would give this book 4.5 out of 5. If you have any thoughts or ideas, feel free to leave a comment, find me on the social medias at @elizabooksblog, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. And as always, I will see you all in the next book!
