How I Read It: Audiobook/ Print
Dates Read: 8/8/19-8/10/19
WHOA this book took a TURN and a HALF! When I first started listening to this book, I figured I wouldn’t be interested in it. And honestly, I got into it, and I was completely surprised by that! And then, the ending! Dude, the last 100 pages are NUTS bro!
There’s this girl, Violet. She comes from a really crappy family, and thanks to a teacher in high school, she decided she wanted to get into the world of cable news. She went to college where she met a girl named Stella, who comes from a privileged lifestyle. After college, she starts working for a company called KCN based out of NYC. In order for Violet to have a place to live, she moves into the apartment that Stella’s parents bought for Stella. As Violet begins to climb the ranks at KCN, Stella’s jealousy (and her parent’s connections) leads her to a job there. As Stella begins to compromise her dream path, Violet must choose between her ambition and her friend.
Pitoniak has a writing style that is easy to read and follow. She managed to keep me entertained and excited throughout the novel, which is a feat because I wouldn’t have been interested by most writers with the same concept. It is dark, real, and INSANE! I recommend it for anyone and everyone!
